The short version: Curb Check does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. There are no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no third parties.
Curb Check is a browser extension that helps you evaluate used-car listings on online marketplaces. It reads the listings already visible in your browser and displays reliability information alongside them — known problem years, durability estimates, and questions worth asking a seller. All of this happens locally in your browser.
Nothing. Curb Check has no backend servers of its own and does not transmit your browsing activity anywhere. We cannot see what you browse, what you search for, or what you buy, because none of that information is ever sent to us.
Your preferences — budget range, mileage tolerance, transmission preference, and listing-age threshold — along with information about listings you have viewed, if you use features that track them, are saved using your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB). This data stays on your computer, is readable only by Curb Check, and is deleted when you uninstall the extension. It is never transmitted to us.
Curb Check reads the content of marketplace pages you visit in order to identify vehicle listings and score them. This reading happens entirely in your browser's memory. No page content is stored on our servers, logged, or transmitted.
Payment and subscription status are handled by ExtensionPay, which processes payments through Stripe. When you start a trial or purchase, ExtensionPay receives the information needed to manage your license, and Stripe receives your payment details. We never see or store your payment information. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Other than the payment processing described above, Curb Check uses no analytics, no advertising, and no error reporting.
Curb Check is not directed at children under 13.
